Erva Adjustable Extended Arm Deck Hanger

The Platinum Cap adjustable deck brackets from Erva have long been popular for people looking to add a little bit of style to their bird feeding station. The Platinum Cap Series is constructed of 1/2 inch cold-rolled steel and the ends are finished with nickel plated solid brass caps. These Swing arm brackets are some of the most popular because they lift the feeder up so you can see the birds well but also extend the feeder out over the deck so spilled seed does not land on the deck. The maximum weight for the swing arm hangers is 10 lbs. Squirrels can easily jump this distance so this hanger will not make your feeder squirrel proof.

 The rotating swing arm deck bracket is available in two mounting styles; screw mounted (model SRB3SC) and clamp mounted (model SRB3CL). Although the clamp mounted styles are more popular because they are easier to install and move around I would highly recommend choosing the Screw mounted styles especially if you will be using a heavy feeder. While the clamp assembly is very strong and will not break the combination of a heavy feeder and constant movement by birds and wind causes the clamp to move to the edge of the deck railing. Adding small shims to the deck railing decreases the movement of the clamp but the screw mounted style will always be more secure. Note that the screw mounting bracket is 2 inches wide and 3 inches long so you will need to attach it to either the 4 x 4 posts or add a small block of wood to your deck.
