The elegant burgundy niger thistle Feeder from Droll Yankees is critical for windy locations. Thistle Socks and mesh feeders tend to leak seeds when shaken regularly but this type of feeder dispenses seed economically. Goldfinches and Pine Siskins have no trouble pulling Niger Seed from the small openings but seed is not knocked out by feeder movement. While this feeder will decrease wasted seed it does not eliminate this problem since finches are notoriously messy eaters.

The burgundy finish is powder coated so it will not chip or fade and the top and bottom pieces are die cast zinc alloy for an exceptional long life, the hanger is stainless steel wire which squirrels cannot chew, and perches are weather resistant aluminum which are easy on birds feet, and the seed tube is made of UV stabilized polycarbonate so it will not yellow with age.
