The kit includes 2 packets of Crystal growing solution, detailed instructions, and fascinating background information on crystals and growing crystals in space. For Ages 12 and older Its fun and easy to do but you do need to follow the included directions carefully. Just dissolve the pre mixed chemicals in water by boiling, let cool to about 99 degrees F, and pour mixture over a rock that will be the base and crystals will grow in a few days. It requires a saucepan to mix and its helpful to have accurate measuring cups (a scale that reads in grams is best) and a thermometer.
