Metal Wall Sculptures from Haiti – Three Little Birds
$29.95
These beautiful sculptures carved from recycled oil drums are made by artists in Haiti. In Haiti the traditional art of converting oil drums into wall sculptures shows the talent, creativity and resourcefulness in the face of dire economic circumstances. These sculptures are a fair trade product insuring the artisans in Haiti are paid a fair living wage for their work. For more information on how these are created Click Here Each of these pieces can be placed indoors or out. If outdoors and exposed to the weather they will naturally rust. You can preserve them in their original color by spraying a clear enamel over them every couple of years.
The Northwest Nature Shop has carried these beautiful sculptures for several years. The purchase of their artwork directly benefits the Haitian artisans and gives them the opportunity to do their traditional artwork while supporting their families and rebuilding their community after the devastating earthquake of January 2010.
