Book Signing with Local Photographer Barbara Tricarico
Friday, February 12, 2016 4-6pm
Northwest Nature Shop
Here in Ashland we have an abundance of artistic talent, beautiful natural scenery, and culture-rich towns to enjoy. These qualities are the focus of two fabulous coffee-table books by local photographer Barbara Tricarico: Ashland, Oregon (2013) and the recently published Ashland, Oregon Day Trips. Featuring works by Barbara and over 50 of Southern Oregon’s best photographers, these books capture the beauty of Ashland and the surrounding region.
When Barbara and her husband Bill retired to Ashland in 2010, Barbara joined the Southern Oregon Photographic Association. Here she was met with a generous community of talented regional photographers and the book Ashland, Oregon was born. Barbara chose from over 10,000 photos to create her latest release Ashland, Oregon Day Trips. She chose the photos that spoke to her to create a book for all those who love Ashland – locals and visitors alike.
Barbara Tricarico’s first book was conceived while living and working in Northern Virginia, She co-authored and photographed the historical book Quilts of Virginia: 1607-1899 in 2006 for the Virginia Consortium of Quilters. Barbara received a BA degree in English from George Mason University and an MA degree from Gallaudet University, where she taught English to deaf high school students.
A friend once told Barbara that photographs are never taken – they’re given. She feels her books are gifts to everyone who opens their covers.
Come meet Barbara and celebrate the scenic beauty of our region, its history, its towns, and the many talented photographers in Southern Oregon. Refreshments will be served. We look forward to seeing you here at Northwest Nature Shop on Friday, February 12th, from 4 – 6pm!
